  • I took a leave of absence….

Posted on December 31, 2008 by in General

I really want to forget about 2008! It has left me with some bitter sweet moments. This was my second year of school. I am going into my third…. Junior in College…. at 28…. I thought I would have been a junior at the age of 19 not 28…..

Anyways, things are hectic… As you can see it has been a few days since I has last written anything. But, I decided today that I really needed some more time off. So, I had to take a short leave of absence, from school that is. I barely made it through Accounting II. Even though I was helping others, I was behind. So, I checked to see when the last day was to request a leave of absence and it was January 6th the day before my classes start. So, I emailed my academic advisor and told I needed to take a leave. Within minutes she had reschedule my classes and push them back. You can take a leave for up to 180 days that about 6 months approxiametly two terms. I am only doing it for one term. Maybe I can really get some things straighten out in my life and catch up on some stuff.

My grandmother is battling with cancer at the moment. She does multiple chemo treatments three times a week. She is 77 and I really need to spend more time with her. So I can cherish the moments we share together.  =)

    Happy New Years!

  • What was I thinking?

Posted on December 31, 2008 by in General

What was I thinking? The day after Christmas was a long one. I sat and rehearsed on whether or not my kids should go away for a week without me. They were excited! Me on the other hand, these are my babies….

I was thinking… I could get a little break, I could get some work done, I could spend a little extra time with my husband, I could relax bit…. They would have a ton of fun ….What if the cry.. What if they want to come home…. What if they need me and I can’t be there….

But the truth of the matter is this was last week and tomorrow I will pick them up. So, I let them go? Where? 4 hours away with their uncle and aunty. My brother has my kids…. Wow. I thought this would never happen. It’s so sweet though to want to spend time with his niece and nephews and play with their cousins. I can’t wait to see my babies! I can’t wait to get to Austin and spend time with my brother and his family.

I can’t believe that all three of them left me. I just knew that my baby boy was going to cry. He just turned 3 and he has never been away from me past one night. Believe it or not he is the trooper! He has not cried or wanted to come home. My 7 year old girl, who will soon will be 8 in January, did have herself a moment though.  But she knew we were one phone call away. My 5 year old said that he did not want to come back home. He told me that he didn’t want to go back to the daycare he just wanted to stay with his uncle. I don’t know about that, but I am glad he has enjoyed himself. This is going to be one exciting New Years day!

    Happy New Years!!!

  • Santa murders….

Posted on December 26, 2008 by in General

Most of the time if you see a man in a Santa suit you call him Santa Clause. The good old Saint Nick! This is not the case in Covina, CA. If that was the case the Santa would be considered a murderer.

COVINA, CA- From Yahoo News, The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office reported that bodies have been found in the rubble of a home set ablaze after Christmas Eve shooting massacre. Investigators ended their search Thursday night for other possible victims of the rampage.  Authorities planned to  return to the scene Friday. Police says the only suspect in the shooting and fire killed himself several hours later.

  • Tis the season…

Posted on December 23, 2008 by in General

Tis the season to be jolly….Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-lahhhh! :0

Season’s come and season’s go. This time I want to make this season memorable! You know those Christmas times in which you would never forget. I remember one Christmas my parents gave me an easy bake oven, kiddie’ typewriter and a new purse with with packs of bubblelicious gum… Oh, I would never forget it! I was about 8 but, they took everything I loved and  made it special!

This season K-Mart has went far beyond limitations and they have thought outside of the box when it came down to making a memorable Christmas season for families all of the word. They have given away $500 worth of gift cards to many many people and really have express the true meaning of this season to give. Not only have they express their love for this holiday season, the sales will not end!

I love K-Mart online because we don’t have a K-Mart here in the city. It is so easy to shop online and avoid the crowd and the heavy lines bleeding into the aisles. I found this JVC Mini DVD Camcorder that is perfect for my husband. Then I found this 4GB MP3 player which is another perfect gift! Almost every tween is wanting an MP3 player. You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on an IPOD just go to K-Mart and get it for a fraction of the cost.

You can also get your last minute gifts from Kmart. They have a great deal on flat screen TV’s, GPS and all type of electronics. They also have many gifts priced below $25 so that you can shop on a budget and still get the best of both worlds! They have over 25,000 items for under $25. That’s like unbelievable right, I know!! I’m talking about some good stuff too, such as LeapFrog Leapster learning games and Martha Stewart items. So, if you got $25, you have money to shop with!

  • What happen to the salad?

Posted on December 22, 2008 by in General

I did bad today… I went to the mall to shop for my little girl Christmas gift. It is so hard to find the perfect gift for a child that believes she is not longer a little girl but have not reach the teenager stage. She is only 7, she’ll be 8 in January. But, her mind is 13 and what is the perfect gift for a child of this caliber.

Well, she told me specifically what she wanted an MP3 player. Everytime I would see on in a sales paper for under $20 they would be gone before I could get my hands on it. I was looking for a small MP3 player with out the screen. So, I went into the mall on the Sears side, they had some priced at $17.99… It didn’t sit with me right, I figured if I couldn’t find anything else I would pick that up on my way out of the store.

I was headed toward JC Penny, which is clean on the other side of the mall. So, I had a long walk ahead of me. So, on my way, I was tempted by Pretzel Time. The fresh baked pretzel and the fresh squeezed lemonade was calling my name…. “TaWana….TaWana….Come pick me up and dip me in cheese… Come on TaWana..” Well, maybe not that serious.. LOL

But, I had to get myself a delicious pretzel and some fresh lemonade… Then I was headed to JC Penny’s. Well, when I walked in, I had to think to myself.. “Does JC Penny’s have an electronic section?” I wasn’t sure. As you can see, its not everyday I go to the mall…. When I was walking toward the women/kids section, there it was just starring me right in my face. MP3 players with the screen for $19.99, talking about a sale FA LA LA LA LA, LA LA LA LAHHH :0! Regular priced at $99 for a fraction of the price! Ye-pie!

Well, since I found what I wanted… I went back toward Sears… I had to go back through Sears since I parked on that end… I figured I didn’t have enough time to stop to get a small salad… So I cheated! I got another pretzel…. Shhh, don’t tell my husband =)

    IT WAS GREEEAAAAT!!!!

  • Make a wish….

Posted on December 19, 2008 by in General

Do you believe in Santa Clause? You know, Saint Nick! I mean the whole entire Santa clause thing… Do you go to the mall and sit on Santa’s lap? Do you actually make a wish believing that what ever you ask Santa for it will be granted some kind of way and some how? That’s why you ask Santa because its not just the ordinary dollar store product right?

Well, I have never sat on Santa’s lap and made a wish until I done it online. It was so cute, I couldn’t resist the opportunity. Santa and his little elves online. The neatest little part about it is that there was this frame called CEIVA. It was so neat! You can upload your picture and it would show up in this digital CEIVA frame right in Santa’s hand. It is like magic.

So, if you want to talk Santa to see if he will approve your wish. I know that you got a wish! There is something that you wish you could have. Wouldn’t it be lovely it would really happen. The best part about it is that Santa is giving away $500 and you will get an entry when you make your wish!

  • What is your diet like?

Posted on December 19, 2008 by in General

For the last two weeks I have been on this salad kick. I have not been eating out everyday but I have been eating salads like crazy.

I had made up in my mind that I was going to eat healthier. The last time I went to the doctor they told me I was 15 pound overweight. But, I wear a size 6. How is this possible? I guess if I wear a 6/8 and I am 5’7  weighing 155 pounds could seem like I am overweight. Anyways, I started the blaming game….. You know when you go to get into something that you just knew you could wear and then you say it must have shrunk. When your thighs have slightly extended. Well… Yeah, I had a lot of clothes that shrunk. But, I couldn’t tell by looking in the mirror.

So, I  made up my mind that I would cut out the heavy meals at night. You are talking about somebody that could eat anything and it would not show. But… I guess since I am almost 30, my body is changing. It is grabbing all of those Whataburger fries and that fried chicken. But, for the last couple of weeks, I have been doing good.  No more crazy stuff! I made up in my mind and my entire thought process changed. I have been having a gym membership for two years and haven’t stepped foot in the gym. Shame on me…. Things are changing! My mind is made up! That’s all the confirmation I need =) The heat is ON!!!!

Anyways, Tyler has this new restaurant called NEWKS. I LOVE their salads! They are the BEST!!!!

  • Human Resource Management

Posted on December 19, 2008 by in Bussiness, General, Technology

I am currently enrolled in school and my next class is Human Resources. I am very excited about this class because I know how important Human Resource Management is in business and can be. The human resource department normally consist of time, payroll, benefits, fringe benefits and etc. If you do not have a human resource department then I am sure if you are in business and they are employees, you do have some type of human resource responsibilities.

Human Resource Management helps you routinely manage and maintain employees personal information. If you have Human Resource Software you do not have to do so much of the work manually. Human Resource Software helps you to track time and attendance with paperless time sheets. It keeps your record accurate and calculations are always to the “t”.

Another are of Human Resources may be making sure that employees receive copies of required documents, such as an employee handbook and certain disclosures for your company. If your company offers health  benefits, insurance benefits are normally updated yearly. So, you need a good human resource management system to make sure all of your HR duties are carried out with accuracy. There are great benefits in knowing all about HR. Even if you do not work in that department, you need great HR Software.
