There are numerous types of file extensions. I am sure you have wondered at time what does a certain file type mean. Or if different files types are convertible without damaging the file itself? Well, I am pretty familiar with many files types but there are some that I am unaware of. Since I use a Windows base computer system all the file types that can be used with Microsoft programs may not compatible with programs that are used with MAC computers.

Do you know the acronym for comma seperated value files? If you have ever seen CSV, you may know that it is used to exchange data from one application source to another.  Then an hqx file type, what is it used for? Well this file type was created by Macintosh so, if you have a Mac computer you are probably more familiar with this file type. Only two programs can open this type of file type and that is MAC OS and Windows.  You can easily learn more about this type of file along with other such as WIDGET, QIF, PGM, NTH, LNG, JNLP, IMG, HQX and GP3. As stated, some files are compatible with other programs. Some times you can rename the file extension and open it up in a different program then there are times when that is not possible, so it always good to learn more about file types before you try an alter them.
