  • My newest love =)

Posted on April 9, 2009 by in Favorite Things!!, General

I love snow-cones when it hot. I use to love Icee’s when I was a child but they are not the same anymore. I also loved slurpees until we lost our 7-11 back when I was a kid. But, I love going to the Dallas, TX area and hitting up a 7-11 every once in a while for a favourable Slurpee.

But, my newest love is all natural and 100% fruit. I didn’t take much of a liking to this refreshing beverage until I learned about its nutrition.

It has a silky ice texture and my favorite flavor is strawberry! Low in sugar in packed with Vitamin C. I get 9 large strawberries in a 14 oz. cup of parrot-ice. That’s my three servings a fruit in one enjoyable fruit beverage. It is so satisfying. It satisfies my sweet tooth and it eases hunger.

So, my newest love is parrot-ice!

  • Looking for a job?

Posted on April 9, 2009 by in General

When you are in need of a job, finding one can be horrific. Submitting tons of resumes only to not get a reply from companies. You may be a successful person and full of vision, but if your resume does not fall into the right hands, you may never get the job in which you desire.

There is hope, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You know what a light house will do for you, right? In the midst of a darken situation appears a light! Well, LIGHTSHIP RESEARCH is that light and they are here when you are facing one of your hardest obstacles in life, job hunting is one of them.

As a job seeker, Mr. Manning needed a light at the end of his tunnel. He had been searching for employment and hadn’t had the best of luck until he seen the light! Explore his experience:

“I got laid off as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing of a new media company in the Bay area. I was recommended by a recruiter to call Lightship Research to help me with my job search, as I wanted to relocate to New York City. I was a little skeptical at first, as I had always used traditional recruiters in the past, but they were not producing any interviews and I needed a job quickly. I spoke with a reference that had used their services and decided to give them a try. Their strategist was very knowledgeable and came up with some good ideas. They really know how to get under the radar and find companies, that you would never have thought of and then find the direct hiring authority. I got four interviews and an offer in 30 days (yes in this economy), which I accepted. Lightship Research http://www.lightshipresearch.com you rock! ”

I know that looking for that perfect job in a sense, can be difficult. But it is not impossible!

    What are your expertise?

I found a forum where it pays you for helping people. I just came across it about two weeks ago. I spent so much time on there answering question and each question I asked or answered I was paid like anywhere for $.10 -1.00. I racked up $25 easy in a couple of  hours.

People are really going to these forums for help with mortgage, insurance and debt questions & answers.  Since I am skilled in the area of mortgage and real estate, I love helping people with there issues in that area.

But, check it out the site is http://www.mortgagefit.com for the mortgage sector of the site.  Then there is a credit & insurance forum that can also be accessed from this home page.

I am telling you, its pretty neat! Very easy money!

Why Use a Free Scholarship Search Serice?

    Expert Advice provided by ScholarshipExperts.com.

So you think it’s time to look for a scholarship to cover your college tuition bill or to pay for grad school. But should you use a scholarship search service or not? Let’s take a look at what a free scholarship search service like ScholarshipExperts.com can provide.

First, let’s think about other “services” that you willingly sign up for, whether they come at a cost or are free of charge. Think yard work. Filing taxes. Hair styling. House painting. Car repairs. Fast food. And the list goes on. You often have someone else do the job, whether it’s preparing your will or washing your car, because that someone can do it better and faster than you can do it yourself. Saving time is usually the issue. So is expertise: you usually turn to someone with expertise in order to get results with minimal time invested.

That’s what scholarship search services claim to be: EXPERT at what they do. And what we at ScholarshipExperts.com do is provide an extraordinarily current and extensive scholarship search service. Why? In one word, empathy.

That’s right — empathy. We know how it feels to be a high school or college/grad student who wants that college education but is looking at a cost of thousands of dollars. We attended universities on scholarship, and it was great! In fact, ScholarshipExperts.com really began in 1997 when one enterprising college student (who had received ample scholarship dollars) noticed some of his buddies struggling to buy textbooks. They were simply under-financed for their college experience. He grew determined to start a free scholarship search service on the Internet, and others who shared his conviction joined in, including former educators and a college advisor.

Our mission at ScholarshipExperts.com is to help more students get more access to more scholarships. We’re not trying to fool you or scam you. Why should we? We are a legitimate business operated by professionals who know what we’re doing. We are not a small home-based business that will be here today and gone tomorrow. We have a real commitment to providing the best technology and scholarship data to students, and have been doing this since 1998. We were in the academic and financial aid environment when today’s high school students were in pre-school. We compile our own database of awards — just ask our team of research specialists who do it. In short, we work hard just like you; we’re moms and dads, friends and family members just like you. We believe that we can provide an exceptional service that will genuinely make a difference in the lives of the students who use it. We know how you feel about the prospect of funding a college education, and we’re here to help. That’s it, pure and simple.

Experience has taught us that obtaining scholarship information can be a daunting process. Even if a student is sure that he or she can qualify for an athletic scholarship, for example, where do you start? Call the major universities on the phone? Check out some web sites? Ask around? This is where we come in. We’re pros; we know how you feel; we think we can be your primary resource for finding scholarship dollars. So check out other services if you must, but we think you will return to ScholarshipExperts.com. We’re the experts in this domain, and we’re worth signing up for.

  • IRS Form 8379- Injured Spouse Form

Posted on April 7, 2009 by in General

How long does it take to process a form 8379?  That was the question I asked this year back in February. I also asked how is a tax refund
treated when form 8379 has been filed? I got many answers from experienced tax filers.

So, the IRS states that it taxes 11 weeks to process a return if file electronically with form 8379. Then 14 weeks to process are return with form 8379 if mailed. You are only concerned about the process it takes if you actually had to file this form.

Why would you file form 8379? Well, if you are married and your spouse has past due obligations that have affected their tax refund
then in order for you to get you part of the funds, you can file form 8379 and the IRS will give the injured spouse their portion of the refund. The other part will go toward the obligations.

My first question was, does it really take 11 weeks to process if it is file electronically. Some of the answers that I received stated: (more…)

  • Got a new do…

Posted on April 7, 2009 by in Favorite Things!!, General

Well its not new any more. I got my hair done about two weeks ago. For those of you who have been reading my blog about my bad hair days :( and what I am doing to grow my hair, I got a new do :) .

I know you are wondering  exactly what did I do. Okay, I tried the roller thing. But my husband hates it! It is very convenient for me, but I found something that he loves. Sounds like a happy home, right?  =)

Anyways, I got pics when I first got my hair done. Still wanting to know what I did or had done….. Well, it took 3 hours, it hurt!!, and it suppose to last at least a month. I got a sew in!

So, I figured in I get hair sewn in for the next year, my hair should grow about 10-12 inches, since it should grow about an inch a month. But I got to keep it up! I also have to be able to afford it =)

But, the pain was not that bad. I use to be very tender headed but  have gotten better! A lot better =)

  • My week!

Posted on April 6, 2009 by in General

I have already express that I am drained physically, emotionally, and mentally right? Well, I am two weeks behind in my classes that I started two weeks ago. I have not been able to get any work done. What I have learned over the course of my previous week is that CANCER is my enemy.

My grandmother battled with cancer for 11 years. As you already now, she lost her battle last week on March 30, 2009. I was blessed enough to share her last moments with her. I had to work that day and I took off for lunch earlier than unusual because I had the sudden unction to get up and go to the hospital.

Normally I get an ill feelling when something is about to happen. I got that feeling Sunday and later to find out she was being rushed to the hospital. She had been in the hospital through the week because she had to go and get blood platelets every other day. She had cancer in her lymph nodes and she had leukemia.

She wouldn’t tell anyone that she had cancer over the last 11 years, battling with leukemia. If she would have chosen to do chemo years ago she would probably had left us because chemo battles against cancer in your lymph nodes. It makes it worse.

So, she started chemo treatments several months ago and it was down hill fighting lymphoma. She had swollen nodes under her arms and in her neck. Her battle with cancer opens my eyes to how important it is as to being aware of how standing for the cause to find cures for the horrible disease.

Since my grandmother played a HUGE part in my life, she will never be forgotten. I lost my mother when I was 12 and my grandmother help raise my siblings and I.

She will always be remembered and NEVER forgotten! My stand for cancer awareness begins NOW!
