I have had a very religious up bringing and always were told that there is a God in whom we must serve in order to get to a place call Heaven. Our entire life has been driven to live a righteous life and to seek to please God so that we can be found in right standing with him and on judgement day, He can say “Well done, thou good and faithful servant ” then I often times heard in my up bringing that He (God) should then say.. “You have been faithful over a few things… I make you ruler over many” ….. But why?
After growing up and reading the book for myself, I read the story where that statement was found. To me it didn’t relate to a decision that God was going to give me on Judgment day. How can we rule in Heaven when its Gods domain. He has given earth to us to rule and have dominion. The scripture speaks about a new Heaven and new Earth (Rev 21:1); clearly if God earth did not belong to the children of God why then would he create a new? You never know what someone else is going through so it pays to treat people right. Today I received a wake-up call. I have been in church all of my life, literally. That’s all I know is Jesus. There comes a part of time when you have to draw a line between what’s religion and what part of your life is relationship. As I grew up I had always felt convicted when I do the wrong things. Things that I know that I shouldn’t have done like lie, cheat or steal.. So, growing up I tried to avoid the negative life style of doing things that I should not do. I was not one of those people that can remember the day and remember it well when Jesus came into my life. It’s like he has always been with me. (more…)
